Red Horse Tavern in Middleburg

I have eaten here two times recently. Both times I enjoyed good food and great service. A couple of years ago I was not impressed to say the least. Now the Red Horse is great.

I LOVE Red Horse. Everytime I go I get delicious pasta. I very much recommended.

It's so cozy and cute. Peaceful environment and really tavern kind of style. Good fries too I might add. If you're ever in the area you should definitely check it out. (If you're not into smaller places I dont recommend it though, it is on the smaller side)

Came here after the place across the street showed disinterest (at best) for its customers. Despite outdoor only seating, was rapidly seated. Attentive service. Food came out quick and was excellent. Scan code for the online menu was easy to use. Try the local beer! Good on a hot summer day!

The Red Horse Tavern is THE watering hole of Middleburg. It feels historic. Like a horse drawn carriage could go by at any moment. When the patio is open there are plenty of seats but the inside dining area is small. But it is worth a stop in to eat here, even with a wait. The food was delicious. We had the potato nachos to start. The chips were homemade and crunchy. I went with the fish and chips based on the servers recommendation. The fish was crunchy on the outside and flakey on the inside. I chose the Tater tots over the fries for this one. They were perfectly crunchy!

This place was packed! We were there to see a music act, which set up in the super cramped main space behind the bar. Food was ok - nothing amazing but good enough. Desserts were pretty good. Good, friendly service.

Their grilled steak entree salad is amazing. The best part is that they use real blue cheese and vegetables are very fresh. Service is not bad. The staff there are helpful and friendly. Tax is 10% here. It's a good place to dine in when you are passing this quiet and peaceful town. They have both bar area and nice patio.

The food is always great. Very relaxed atmosphere and pleasant employees. Worth the price every time!! Good place for kids and some pets. I always have enough for lunch the next day

Just passing through from Reagan airport to Winchester, VA and decided to stop here to eat. We were SO glad we did! The food was AMAZING! The potato nachos were absolutely DELICIOUS, and the blackened tuna sandwich the best I ever had. We WILL be going back before we leave. Btw, awesome atmosphere, pleasant employees and quaint little towm!!Just editing to say we're here for the SECOND time, and it's JUST as good as the 1st time! Different host/server, but same delicious food AND service!

Great, friendly staff. Good atmosphere and when the weather is right awesome outside seating! Plus I have not had one thing I didnt like off their menu

Gorgeous spring day to visit historic Middleburg! After walking around a bit, we ate a delicious lunch outside at the Red Horse - club sandwich w/fries and a reuben w/chips, a local draft and Diet Coke. Only complaint was that our original server never stopped back to ask how we liked our meals, especially after asking about the reuben before ordering.

Amazing place, great atmosphere and food, very nice and pleasant service. Would reccomend it to anybody.

The town of Middleburg is quite charming with a lot of interesting shops and restaurants and is very dog friendly (including this establishment). The outside dining area was cozy and the menu was moderately priced. However, our server was terrible. He never introduced himself and we waited 20 minutes for him to come back to take our food order. After that we never saw him again. Various other servers working the outside with him brought our food and checked in with us to see that the food was satisfactory and to get us drink refills. We found out his name was Sam due to the other tables of people around us being greeted and served by him. We heard him tell another server to prepare our check without anyone asking us if we wanted dessert or ask if we were even ready to leave. We would recommend eating here but be aware that Sam is more interested in serving the locals he knows rather than out of town patrons.

Great food an great service.

I love this casual pub type restaurant for their al fresco lunches. Sitting on the patio, people watching and enjoying pretty good pub fare and a beer or glass of wine after a walk around town is a must. The menu is not extensive but they have great salads, burgers and sandwiches along with a few pasta dishes and usually a special.

Great place. The service is excellent. The waiters and waitresses we're very friendly.will totally recommend it for relaxed evening out or to watch NBA with friends.

Stopped by for lunch on a busy Saturday. Great service. Great food. Just a little cramped. ( understandable)

Two coworkers and I are currently spending three months in Middleburg over the winter for our job. The Red Horse has quickly become a staple for us. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We have been in the area for a month and are already greeted as locals when we walk through the door! The waiter knows our drink orders by heart and before we even sit down he is asking us if we’d like the usual to drink! That attention to detail makes being in Middleburg feel a little more like “home” for the next few months. The food is affordable and delicious. Really solid tavern food! I haven’t had anything I didn’t like yet (I’ve had the Reuben, grilled chicken panini, burger, a few of the wraps, and just about all of the fried apps!). Everything is delicious! The fries are great but I recommend upgrading to sweet potato fries if you like them! So good.

Probably the cheapest food you'll be able to find in Middleburg. Pretty good service with good food. Burger wasn't as juicy as I'd like but the fries were perfectly crispy and the food came out fairly quickly too. Good place to stop if you're in Middleburg and don't want to leave with a $60+ bill for 2 people

Just had a cheeseburger with no bun and instead of fries on the side, I asked if they would substitute the fries with bacon. Was told there would be an up charge, but that was fine with me. Absolutely delicious!!!! Friendly staff! Great service!!!!

Middleburg's "dive bar" is pretty nice. Outdoor seating and fast friendly service, full bar, decent wine list, great beer selection, and a full menu.

Don’t leave without trying potato nachos! OMG! It is amazing! Very unique place. Employees are very friendly and polite! I will definitely come back.

Had to stop a few times on this visit for good food and a few cocktails. Very laid back inside or outside seating on main st Middleburg we all had burger specials delicious 😋

I work in middleburg, and order from here all the time. The staff is very nice, and I never wait more than 15 minutes for my food. Food is always hot and delicious! I love coming here for my 30 minute break, feels like home.

The food is consistently good, the portions are generous. I had the crabcake sandwich & my BF had the bison burger. Both were yummy. 🍴 The prices are very reasonable and the servers are friendly & attentive. We've eaten there several times when we were in the area (we live in Tysons) and will definitely go back. 👍

Ordered fish & chip, it was okay but dipping sauce is just mayo (don't like so I mixed mayo with ketchup for own dipping sauce). Most in the Middleburg restaurants are close after 6 or 7 PM so there are only few option to go.

They let dogs eat at the outdoor patio, but their food wasn't good and they didn't get my order right. Since it was cold out and they didn't serve any hot drinks for my son and me, I went to get coffee and hot chocolate next door while waiting for my order to be made, they didn't let me bring it in to eat at my patio seat.Oh, but they were so kind to let me leave it on the floor by the entrance, while I finish eating my food. When I got back to my coffee and hot chocolate, it was lukewarm

Had a steak and cheese w/fries, she had a cheese burger and fries. Both were very good. Service was excellent..... manager/owner(?) was very attentive, but needs to smile! Great experience, will be back.

Food are not fresh, Cuban Sandwich it wasn't real.

Tight fit but great service. Cuban and Greek salad did us well on a hot day. Thanks Crystal for great service and pleasant attitude. We will Return next time we are in town.

We arrived at this place for lunch. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, it was very successful. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we will visit this place again. We recommend this place to all.
